RED RIVER ENERGY, LLC began researching the potential underground coal mining project after encountering 39 inches of coal during the Adele Mining & Development exploration program.  From this information, a feasibility study was launched by reviewing much of the history in Cannel City.  We also researched the University of Kentucky Mines and Minerals Library for geologic publications within the Cannel City Quadrangle.  In addition, local historians had spent time researching the beginning of Cannel Development Company and Kentucky Block Cannel Coal Company.  Red River Energy, LLC has compiled this information and discovered THERE REMAINS 50,000,000 TONS OF COAL RESERVES IN THAT AREA.  Our vision is to redevelop the western coal field, of eastern Kentucky and provide a greater opportunity to the community than what existed in the past.
